How to Celebrate Historic Spaces with Contemporary Design

The Hormel-Nguyen Intercultural Center aims to “engage and empower the community through advocacy, dialogue, and support networks to influence campus culture and promote inclusivity and identity consciousness”. For a space with such an important mission, we wanted to create furniture that had a depth of meaning.

Our Impact

At Hugo & Hoby, we aim to leave our spaces, planet, and community even more beautiful than we found them. From using sustainable materials, to working with local fabrication partners, building timeless designs, and planting forests with each project - we try to strengthen our communities and protect our planet in the work that we do.

How We Build Locally in a Big Way

Hugo & Hoby had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Pirie Associates to design & fabricate the furniture for Yale Law School’s Baker Hall. The vision for the space was to create an academic, social and residential hub for the law school. In view of this, we designed furniture for the 111 bedrooms and common spaces that brings people and ideas together.
